In 2018, the first canvas was painted by hand — palette knife strokes in ochre and sienna, thick and textured. No studio, no team. Just a table, some paint, and the intention to make something worth hanging on a wall.
Hand-painted elements became the building blocks of something larger. We started taking on custom projects — murals for cafes, art for hotel lobbies, collections for interior designers — each piece customised by hand, each composition unique. The art wasn't just for frames anymore. It was for walls.
Individual pieces became collections — dark botanicals with peonies and hummingbirds, chinoiserie gardens on emerald grounds, atmospheric landscapes in earth tones. Each collection starts with hand-painted elements, then gets composed and refined into scenic murals and original artworks.
Today, Kolorkaari creates art collections in multiple styles, takes on custom mural and design projects, and mentors a growing team of independent artists. The core hasn't changed — every piece still starts by hand.
Kolorkaari is a handmade art studio founded by Ankit Ahuja in 2018. Based in India, we work with a team of independent artists to create original artwork and execute wall murals for restaurants, lounges, hotels, and commercial spaces.

Our artists painted a jungle noir scene directly on the main wall — dense tropical foliage with hidden leopards and parrots in dark greens, blacks, and bronze. The bar became one of the most photographed spaces in the city. Hand-painted on site over five days.
