About Kolorkaari

Kolorkaari is an art studio in Faridabad, Haryana. We print artwork onto canvas, stretch it and frame it, paint murals, and make canvas for designers, hotels and other sellers. Everything is made in our own studio, to order.

What we make

How a canvas is made

1. The artwork is printed at the size you ordered, with HP Latex inks on 380 GSM canvas.
2. The canvas is stretched over a solid pine stretcher. The corners are folded, not cut, and the canvas is stapled under tension behind the bar.
3. It is either left as a wrapped canvas, 25 mm deep with the image running round the edge, or fitted into a floater frame: a polystyrene moulding with a 10 mm face, a 6–8 mm shadow gap and a 35 mm depth.
4. A sawtooth hanger is fitted, the piece is checked, and it is packed in a rigid carton with corner protection and sent with tracking.

That takes 3 to 5 business days, and then 5 to 8 business days to a metro address or 8 to 12 business days elsewhere in India. Shipping is free across India. Delivery charges are included in the displayed price.

What these are, and what they are not

The canvases in the shop are prints on canvas. They are not hand-painted and we never describe them that way. Murals are different: a mural is painted by hand, on your wall.

The people

The studio is run by its directors, Ankit Ahuja and Surinder Kumar Ahuja. Ankit painted his first canvas in 2018, a palette-knife piece in ochre and sienna on a table in his room, and the studio grew from that into printing, framing and wall murals. When you write to us, one of the people who makes the work answers.

Standing behind it

If a canvas reaches you damaged, defective, or not the one you ordered, tell us within 7 days of delivery and we send a free replacement, with pickup of the original at our cost. The Cancellation and Refund Policy sets out exactly how.
