The construction

Published in millimetres.

A floater frame holds the canvas from behind, so an open gap runs right round the edge. These numbers are the same on every floater finish.

Golden Banyan Roots

About this artwork

What the picture shows.

An old banyan tree spreads its canopy over a forest floor, its trunk surrounded by curtains of hanging aerial roots in dappled amber light.

Olive, umber and moss are worked in thick, vertical strokes, and the sunlit roots are picked out in burnished gold leaf. A grounded, sheltering square for a living room, a study or an entrance.

Art print on canvas, HP Latex inks on 380 GSM canvas, made to order in our Faridabad studio. Choose a wrapped canvas, or a floater frame in antique gold, matt black, natural or walnut. It arrives ready to hang.

Dispatched in 3 to 5 business days and delivered free across India (5 to 8 business days to metros, 8 to 12 elsewhere). If it reaches you damaged in transit, we send a free replacement.

How it arrives

Packed flat, with the hanger already on.

Stretched, framed and packed in our Faridabad studio before it ships: a rigid carton, corner protection on all four corners and a wrap over the face, with the sawtooth hanger already fitted to the top bar.

Nothing to assemble and no glass. Out of the box, onto one screw or picture hook.

What the four finishes look like

Only the finish changes between the four. Face, gap and depth are identical, so the choice is colour alone.

Before you buy

The questions we are asked most

Is this a painting or a print?

A print. Every piece is printed with HP Latex inks on 380 GSM canvas, then stretched over a pine stretcher in our Faridabad studio. It is a reproduction of the artwork shown, not an original painting.

Does it arrive ready to hang?

Yes. A sawtooth hanger is fitted to the top bar before it ships. There is nothing to assemble and no hardware to buy: out of the box, onto one screw or picture hook.

Is there glass?

No. Nothing to reflect, nothing to crack, and nothing that makes the parcel heavy or fragile.

What is the difference between wrapped canvas and a floater frame?

The same canvas and the same pine stretcher under both. Wrapped means the image carries round the edge of the stretcher and there is no outer frame. A floater frame is a polystyrene moulding that holds the canvas from behind, leaving a 6–8 mm float gap all round, so the canvas reads as an object sitting inside the frame.

Do the floater finishes differ in size?

No. Matt Black, Natural, Antique Gold and Walnut share one profile: 10 mm face, 6–8 mm float gap and 35 mm depth. Only the finish changes.

Will the colours match my screen?

Close, but not identical. A screen emits light; a canvas reflects the light in your room, so the same image reads a little deeper and softer on the wall, and warmer under a yellow bulb. What we promise is that the file we print is the file shown on this page.

Can I order a custom size?

Yes. Send us the wall width and height, or the size you have in mind, through the custom size page or on WhatsApp, and we will quote it.

When will it arrive?

Each canvas is printed to order. We dispatch in 3–5 business days, then delivery takes 5–8 days to a metro address or 8–12 days elsewhere in India. Shipping is free, and you get a tracking link by email and SMS.

What if it arrives damaged?

Tell us within 7 days of delivery, with a photo of the canvas and the box, and we replace it free of charge. You can also cancel free of charge any time before dispatch. The full terms are on the cancellation and replacement page.

Is GST included, and do I get an invoice?

Yes. Every price on the site includes GST, and a GST invoice from Kolorkaari Studios Private Limited comes with your order.

Do you ship outside India?

Not at present. We ship within India only, free of charge.

Do you offer trade prices to interior designers and businesses?

Yes. Approved trade partners get a trade price list, 35 to 45% below retail, and order by studio invoice; prices include GST. Apply for a trade account.
