Effective date: April 2026
These terms govern your use of the Kolorkaari website (kolorkaari.com) and any services we provide, including custom artwork, wall murals, and commissioned projects. By using our website or engaging our services, you agree to these terms.
We have written these in plain language because we believe clarity matters more than legalese. If anything is unclear, email us at [email protected] and we will explain.
Kolorkaari is a handmade art studio based in India, founded in 2018. We create original artwork — paintings, illustrations, and wall murals — through a team of independent artists. Our work is commissioned by individuals, businesses, interior designers, and hospitality venues.
We offer the following:
Every custom project is different. We do not have fixed pricing for commissioned work. Each project is quoted individually based on scope, complexity, size, materials, and timeline.
A quote is valid for 30 days from the date it is provided. Prices may change after that period if material costs or project scope have changed.
Work begins only after both parties agree on the scope, timeline, and payment terms in writing (email is sufficient).
For custom and commissioned projects, we typically require a deposit before work begins. The specific payment schedule will be agreed upon for each project. Standard terms are:
For larger mural projects, a three-stage payment schedule may be arranged. All payment terms are confirmed in writing before work begins.
All artwork created by Kolorkaari and its artists is original work. Copyright in all artwork belongs to Kolorkaari unless explicitly transferred in writing as part of a project agreement.
When you commission artwork from us:
If you provide reference images, mood boards, or other visual materials as part of a project brief, you are responsible for ensuring you have the right to use those materials. Kolorkaari uses reference materials only as creative guidance — we do not copy other artists' work.
If a reference image you provide is subject to copyright held by a third party, the responsibility for any resulting claims lies with you, not with Kolorkaari.
Mural projects have specific requirements:
For custom projects, we share progress at agreed stages for your feedback. Minor adjustments during the creative process are part of normal workflow.
Major changes to the brief after work has begun (different subject matter, significant size changes, different style direction) may require a revised quote and adjusted timeline.
Once you approve a final design or completed work in writing, that approval is considered acceptance of the work as delivered.
Custom and commissioned artwork is made specifically for you. Because of this:
For mural projects, cancellation after our artists have travelled to the site will incur travel and accommodation costs regardless of whether the mural is completed.
For artwork that is shipped, delivery timelines are estimates and may vary depending on the destination and shipping provider. We package all artwork carefully, but once a shipment is handed to the carrier, transit damage is covered by the carrier's insurance, not by Kolorkaari.
If artwork arrives damaged, contact us immediately with photographs and we will work with you and the carrier to resolve the issue.
Kolorkaari's total liability for any claim arising from our services is limited to the amount you paid for the specific project in question. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages.
We take reasonable care in all our work, but handmade art involves natural variation. Minor differences between a reference or mockup and the final artwork are inherent to handmade processes and are not grounds for a claim.

These terms are governed by the laws of India. Any disputes arising from these terms or our services will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts in India.
We may update these terms from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated effective date. Continued use of our website or services after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
For ongoing projects, the terms agreed at the start of the project will apply for the duration of that project.
